God’s Perfect Knowledge

“For I, the Lord, do not change...” Malachi 3:6

To say that God is omniscient is to say that He is all knowing.

God has never learned, for He has no need of learning. To suggest that God is deficient in some knowledge is to suggest that there is someone who could be God’s teacher.

You almost detect a dry sense of humor (or is it scorn?) as Isaiah poses this rhetorical question. “Who has directed the Spirit of the Lord, or as His counselor has informed Him? With whom did He consult and who gave Him understanding? And who taught Him in the path of justice and taught Him knowledge, And informed Him of the way of understanding?” Isaiah 40:13-14

God says, Remember the former things long past, For I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is no one like Me, Declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things which have not been done, Saying, ‘My purpose will be established, And I will accomplish all My good pleasure.’” Isaiah 46:9-10

We change plans when we receive new information. He is never informed by another or by new circumstances.

Because God has known the end from the beginning, He does not change.

Today as you meditate on God’s perfect knowledge, rejoice with Paul as he writes: “Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways!” Romans 11:33
