Jehovah-Tsidkenu

“Behold, the days are coming,” declares the LORD,
“When I will raise up for David a righteous Branch;
And He will reign as king and act wisely
And do justice and righteousness in the land.
In His days Judah will be saved,
And Israel will dwell securely;
And this is His name by which He will be called,
‘The LORD our righteousness.’” Jeremiah 23:5-6

This Scripture is considered to be messianic and therefore refers to Jesus our Messiah who...
- as God, is Yahweh, the living, eternal true God.
- as Mediator, He places on you His own righteousness.
Your salvation is secure because of His righteousness. Righteousness and salvation are co-themes throughout Scripture.

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, ‘But the righteous man shall live by faith.’” Romans 1:16-17

Celebrate your righteous stand before God, made possible as a gift by His grace. Meditate on the relationship of His righteousness and your salvation.

“For if by the transgression of the one, death reigned through the one, much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.” Romans 5:17
