Our Living Hope

“...and if Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless; you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. If we have hoped in Christ in this life only, we are of all men most to be pitied.”
1 Corinthians 15:17-19

Someone famous had disappeared. The authorities, unable to offer an explanation, presume him dead. There are, however, at least 17 different incidents where this person has been seen. One occasion involves over 500 people. With this kind of evidence, and given the good character of the numerous witnesses, you probably would begin to believe this person is still living. Unless, of course, you are prejudiced in your approach to the evidence.

Such is the case for the resurrection of Jesus Christ. A case so overwhelming that no first century event could be better substantiated. Why, then, is the resurrection suspect? Obviously this is why God has given us such a clear record since all of Christian truth rests firmly upon the resurrection of Jesus.

Christianity is unique and alive. You live because your have a resurrected Savior “Who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead (1 Peter 1:3).

Praise Him, today, Who is your living hope. Allow the knowledge of this living Hope to revitalize you as you move through your day.
