The Way of the Cross

“For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.” 1 Corinthians 1:18

Getting and retaining God’s perspective on the cross significantly alters our lives. Self improvement theorists say you can change your reality structure. You need to discover just how well you grasp your present reality. Having made this self-analysis, you are to set about rewriting it. That way you can see yourself as more positive. Change the old for the new.

Understanding that God loves you, that He has given Himself to you in the Person of Jesus Christ, is bound to help you see yourself as the object of His love. If you think you can rewrite reality (what is) apart from the interventions of God in your life, you have set yourself a goal of false and empty expectations.

How very different from the expectations God has set before you in the promises He has given in His Word. Our access to this vast store of God’s great provision for us is through Jesus and His sacrifice. This is the way of the cross, foolishness to some, but an open door to the glories of God the Father for those who believe.

Pray today that the members of your family will enjoy God’s great blessings because they have His viewpoint of the cross of Christ.
