“...and when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. And it came about that for an entire year they met with the church, and taught considerable numbers; and the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.” Acts 11:26
If you intend to build a teaching ministry based on the example of Jesus Chris, you will note that Jesus never stopped teaching. His school, His marketplace of learning, knew no boundaries.
No matter who came to Him, Jesus started where people were and then ministered to them.
Because the ministry of teaching God’s Word has power to transform lives from spiritual lostness to spiritual life, teaching God’s Word in other places - including apartment complexes, office settings, campus equal access clubs, or wherever people can be gathered - becomes a powerful strategy to fulfill the Great Commission. Matt 28:18-20
The principle is clear: Teaching people God’s Word bears fruit when the teacher relates to the people in language, terminology, and concern enough to be creative.
Teachers who instruct others in such a way that God transforms lives, must connect not only to the learner’s head - but also to the learner’s heart.
The church is in the people business, and the day we stop relating and ministering to people, is the day we are out of business.
