“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20
God gave us the church to help us become more like Christ and to give us an opportunity to be involved in the work of God’s kingdom.
By worshiping with other Christians, studying God’s Word together, and encouraging one another as we ourselves are encouraged, we can move toward what God desires us to be.
The church also serves as the natural vehicle for sharing Jesus with others, and for ministering to both Christians and non-Christians.
Through the church, believers can work together to make an eternal difference in countless lives, but it must be understood - All the functions of the church involve people. Without people you can not have a church. And without reaching new people...the church cannot grow.
Note: Scripture does not say, “You all come!” - It says, “GO!”
Jesus was always going...
Jesus was always with people...
Jesus was always there to meet needs...
If we’re going to reach people, then we have to be like Jesus.
How much like Jesus are you? Do you have a heart for the lost?
Do you care? Do you pray for the lost?
Are you actively trying to reach the lost?
